ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ Mohanlal ਨੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਫਿਲਮ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ, ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਕੇਰਲਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕਲਚਿਤਰਾ ਅਕੈਡਮੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ, ਇੱਕ ਬੰਗਾਲੀ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ‘ਤੇ ਦੁਰਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਿੱਦੀਕੀ ਨੇ ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਮੂਵੀ ਆਰਟਿਸਟ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਕੇਰਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਫਿਲਮ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੜਬੜ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪਿਨਾਰਾਈ ਵਿਜਯਨ ਨੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਚ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਅਦਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਬਦਸਲੂਕੀ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੱਤ ਮੈਂਬਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
President Actor Mohanlal resigned from the post of of AMMA
Several actors and directors in the Malayalam film industry have been accused of sexual harassment after the release of the Hema Committee report. Earlier, actor Siddiqui and director Ranjith resigned from their posts and now Mohan Lal has also resigned as president of the Association of Malayalam Film Artists (AMMA).
Mohanlal and other committee members have resigned, due to which the committee has been dissolved. Actor Shammi Thilakan criticized Mohanlal for his silence regarding the accused mentioned in the Hema Committee report and claimed that he has lost his capacity to respond.
According to reports, Mohan Lal resigned as the president of the Malayalam Film Artists Association due to the significant backlash. Along with this, director Ranjith Kerala has also resigned as the president of Kalchitra Academy.
Notably, a Bengali actress has accused a director of abuse, leading to Siddiqui resigning as general secretary of the Malayalam Movie Artistes Association. The decision was taken after allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by a female actor.
The Kerala government has taken an important step in response to the turmoil within the Malayalam film industry. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held a high-level meeting with senior police officials and decided to set up a special seven-member team to investigate the abuse of women actors.
