ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਫਿਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਛਿੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਘਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ‘Emergency’ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਦਰਸਾਏ ਜਾਣ ’ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਿਤਰਣ ਅਸਵੀਕਾਰਨਯੋਗ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਰੋਕ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸਨੇ Kangana Ranaut ‘ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਿਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਗਲਤ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ, ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਵਿਵਾਦਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਆਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ।
SGPC president Dhami demanded an immediate stop to Kangana Ranaut ‘Emergency’
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her outspoken comments, is making headlines with her upcoming film ‘Emergency’. Recently, the trailer was released, creating controversies surrounding the film. Punjab MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa has sent a letter to the central government objecting to a scene depicting the life of former PM Indira Gandhi and the Emergency and has sought to block the film’s release.
Kangana Ranaut recently unveiled the trailer of her upcoming film, which is all set to hit the theaters on September 6. In this film, she plays the role of former PM Indira Gandhi, the story revolves around the ‘Emergency’ declared during her tenure.
The trailer also features Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala, and the cast includes notable actors like Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman and Shreyas Talpade. However, a controversy has erupted over this film.
Along with this, Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has expressed strong displeasure at the portrayal of Sikhs as separatists in ‘Emergency’ and said that the portrayal of Sikh martyrs in films is unacceptable.
Apart from this, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has demanded an immediate ban on this film. He accused Kangana Ranaut of deliberately misrepresenting Sikh characters, which he claims the Sikh community cannot accept, given her history of controversial statements against Sikhs and Punjab.
