ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਕਸਰ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਦੇ ਸਕ੍ਰਿਪਟ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਕਦੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੰਗਾਮਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ‘ਚ ਫਸਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ, ਪ੍ਰੋਡਕਸ਼ਨ ਹਾਊਸਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਇਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਲਮ ਬਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਕ੍ਰਿਪਟ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਵਾਦਿਤ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
karan Johar ਨੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ‘ਚ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ‘ਚ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ ‘ਤੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਫਿਲਮ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਟਾਰਗੇਟਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਟ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਸਾਫਟ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵਿਵਾਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਇਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ‘ਚ ਸਵੈ-ਸੈਂਸਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਕਰਨ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਡਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ‘ਚ ਫਸ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ।
ਹੁਣ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹਰ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਕੇਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ, ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ FIR ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਸਕੀਏ। ਹਰ ਸਕ੍ਰਿਪਟ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਧਰਮਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਡਕਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਡਕਸ਼ਨ ਧਰਮਾਟਿਕ ਐਂਟਰਟੇਨਮੈਂਟ ਦੀ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੈਂਸਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਘਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲਮ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
Karan ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਕੋਰਟ ਕੇਸ ਲੜਨ ਦਾ ਤਣਾਅ ਅਤੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਊਰਜਾ ਖਰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Karan ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਜਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਫਟ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਹੈ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੁਝ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਫਟ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਾਫਟ ਪਾਵਰ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਫਟ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਹੈ।
ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ‘ਚ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਵਿਆਹ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੌਹਰ’ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕਰਨ ਜੌਹਰ ਖੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕੋਰਟ ‘ਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸਨੇ ਬੰਬੇ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਦਾਇਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਤੇ ਸਥਾਈ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲਮ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ, ਲੇਖਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਪਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।

There are often controversies about films. Sometimes over the script, sometimes over the songs and sometimes over the clothes, the uproar starts. To avoid getting into such trouble, production houses have now started hiring legal teams. The script is reviewed by the legal team before the film is made. In this way the producers censor the controversial part before the controversy arises.
Karan Johar has also talked about this issue in a recent interview. He has mentioned online targeting and court cases against the film. Karan says that Bollywood is a soft target, so it has become necessary to hire a legal team to avoid disputes. Talking about the self-censorship in an interview, Karan Johar said, “The fear is that we will get into some kind of legal trouble.
Now we have a legal department in every institution. We don’t want a court case, we don’t want an FIR against us, so that we can avoid it. Every script, be it from Dharma Productions or our digital production Dharmatic Entertainment, first goes through legal censorship internally, only after that we go ahead and make the film.
Karan says we don’t do it because we are scared, we just don’t want to take the stress and pressure of fighting a court case and spend energy on such things. Meanwhile, he said that those who protest, I think, are not those who have real objection. These are the people who have a habit of shouting for no reason.
Karan added, “Sometimes I think it’s all because Bollywood or Indian cinema is a soft target. There are many people, they say and do different things, but when we say something we start to be seen everywhere. We have been targeted online, it is true that we are soft targets. We are such a soft power, which is a soft target.
Recently, Karan Johar himself reached the court against the director of the film ‘Viyaah De Karan Aur Johar’. He filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, seeking a permanent ban on the film and an order against the film’s producer, writer and director.
